This is a story of a brave king who was going to fight on an island with his fellow soldiers. They went on that island with their ships and without any worries and thinking they burnt their ships on which they came.
Now what? They can't return to their homes. They have only two possible ways now to die fighting or to defeat enemies and take their ship and go back home. This is what we call Do or Die.
When we have a ultimate goal towards us or an awesome life achieving desire then this might be the situation where you can behave like this king. Then you have to burn your bridges and think of facing the problem and claiming the reward. When you won't have any other option to do then your mind won't get distract and fully focus himself on one point that's victory.
